New Eyes!

Welp, its all over and Im to the point where my eyes are adjusted.  The Dr said I ended up at 20/15!  Thats awesome.  The day of my surgery after it I had to come home and keep my eyes closed.  I slept and took it easy.  My eyes were pretty tired for the first couple of days.  Today they feel better though, a little dry.  Its so nice being able to wear good sunglasses again, and not having to worry about glasses.  Im so glad I did this.  Now I just cant wait till my eyes are healed enough for me to actually do something.  Right now I just kinda have to sit around, which is hard for me, especially 4 straight days of it.  Ill be glad to go back to work tomorrow for something to do.

I havent written about this yet but I am also 20lbs lighter.  My goal is another 20lbs.   I have just been counting calories and trying to stick to 1500-2000 calories.  Similar to weight watchers.  Its about time I get a little healthier.

Welp time to get back to watching goodfellas =D

My movie reviews ;)

300 to put into a single word, was Amazing!  The effects were great and the story was pretty cool too.  The critics may not have liked the film, but the public loves it.  Its rated 8.4 on IMDB, which puts it in the top #250 movies of all time.  Right now its at #156.  It was pretty gory, but spectacular to see.  I’m really glad I saw it on the ultra-screen.

I watched 3 other movies last weekend.  My sister and her boyfriend came over and we watched some movies.  We watched Borat, Idiocracy, and Employee of the month.  Borat was funny for about 30 minutes.  Then after that the humor got old.  I mean you still laughed, but it just got monotonous.  Idiocracy as a movie sucked, but if you look at it from the point of view of being a social commentary, it was pretty right on.  Bonus points for that.  Employee of the month was the best of the three if you ask me.  I love Dane Cook though.  It wasn’t overly funny, or a must see, just a good old fashioned comedy about the underdog getting the girl.  Jessica Simpson didn’t hurt the fact that I liked it ;)

In less than two days I go under for my eye surgery.  I’m a little nervous, but still pretty excited.  In the long run this will be much better.

With the nice weather I am getting motorcycle itch.  On the virago forums I frequent (www.viragotech.com) there is a guy selling a single carb intake to replace the dual carb setup.  It was at a killer price so I thought I would try it out.  I just got a decent deal on a harley carb to toss on it.  Everything should be here next week sometime.  This way I wont have to worry about syncing the carbs anymore, which is just a small pain, not to mention maintaining two carbs is more hassle than one obviously.  If it doesn’t work I should be able to sell everything for around what I paid for it so it wont be all that big of a loss.  Hopefully it works good though.

I cant wait for this afternoon.  Im taking off of work to go see the movie 300.  Its about the 300 spartans who fought the persian army.  It based on real history.  The cinematics look superb, and I am just so excited!

I got the keyboard tray on the computer desk last night.  It works good and makes it so much nicer.  Hopefully this weekend I can get started on the File drawers.  I also need to get the boat put back together.  Its been apart since last summer with my fuel issue.  Im hoping that I have that fixed now since I cleaned out the tank.  I definately want to do a lot of fishing this year.

Hopefully either today, or next week I can get my links updated.  I have a few cool sites I need to post.  One shows a lot of the “Deal of the Day” sites all in one place.  Woot has really gone downhill.  Every other day is a roomba or scuba or some other variant.  Jellyfish is way better.

Is it time to ride the cycle yet?

Mandi and I went and saw Wild Hogs on Friday (as apparently a lot of people did…an opening weekend of $38million is pretty impressive, especially for a comedy).  The movie was pretty good.  When people ask if they would like it I always answer “Do you think someone getting hit in the head is funny?  If so you will like this movie.”  It had a plethora of stars in it (not to mention the 4 main characters are all pretty big names).  It seemed like every scene had another big name in it.  Ray Liotta does a phenomenal job also.  I have always thought he is a top notch actor who doesnt get his due.   Anyways, I would recommend the movie highly!

The only problem with this movie is it made me want to get on my motorcycle.  It also made me wish I had a bike that doesnt vibrate so much (because my bike rides at such high rpms) so I could take longer trips.  But hey, I have so little into my bike I cant complain.  I have more than gotten my use out of it.  Just things for me to remember for my next bike.

Speaking of movies….I am so excited to see 300 its not funny.  Its all I can talk about sometimes.  Is it friday yet?

I got part of the desk in the computer room this weekend.  By part I mean the main part of the desk is in there.  I have the keyboard tray all done, it just needs a few coats of poly and and its ready to be installed.  Then I just need to finish making the hanging file drawers.  Hopefully in a month or so I will be done with that piece.  Getting the saws out of the shed was a pain.  Took me about an hour.  Had to wade through the snow then carry them to the garage.  The snow was up to my crotch in so many places…which was only made worse by the fact I kept falling through….lol.  Let me explain.  I was able to stand on top of the snow most of the time…but you would be walking and suddenly fall through it to at least knee height.  That makes for a tough time walking.  When I was carrying my saws (table and miter) I was falling through no matter what because of the weight.  That made for one hell of a trip.  The snow by the curb that I had to go through was up to my waist.  That was crazy.  Anyways I got the saws now.

Less than 2 weeks till my laser eye surgery too!  So much excitement this month!

Is it time to fish yet?

Last weekend I went to the fishing show with Cory.  It was decent, but not as good as previous years.  It seems to me like there were fewer vendors there this year.  Next year I may end up skipping it all together and just going to the Milwaukee one.  Its a much bigger show and actually cheaper.  Go figure.  I did end up buying 2 rods though.  1 to replace the worm rod I broke and another one just because I had an extra reel and it was a good deal…lol.  We saw Larry Nixon talk and he was decent, but it was such a diverse crowd skillwise that I really didnt learn anything I didnt know.

Tuesday night I helped Mandi at super suppers.  She was running late and we were meeting for supper so I decided to see what the fuss was about.  It actually was pretty cool.  We were in a rush so that kind of sucked, but a nice experience.  They have all these stations and the ingredients and you just put it together.  They do all prep and dishes.  Mandi had a coupon so we got 12 meals for $100.  Not too bad really and much easier.  Most of the stuff you just pop in the oven for like an hour and your all set.

After that we ate at Cossi.  Its new to us but they seem to be taking over the world so we had to try it.  I have to admit it was pretty good.  Its kind of pricey, but delicious (like $18 for both of us).  The “bread” is a flatbread that they cook over an open fire.  We had the grain bread…super good.  Overall a good experience and delicious food.

Friday I have a date with Mandi.  We are going to have supper and then go see “Wild Hogs.”  Its been awhile since we have gone to a movie and we both think that this movie looks pretty funny in a corny sort of way.   Plus I have to get in the mood for next week.  Gotta go see “300″  From the previews it looks like a major award winner at the oscars next year.  The cinematics look crazy sweet.  I cant wait.
