This is a pretty awesome remake I just found…lol.

Tired

Filed under: Misc — Charlie at 10:45 am on Thursday, April 19, 2007

For some reason the last week or two I havent been able to get much good sleep.  Im so tired its not funny.  I get like 7 hours of sleep and am still exhausted.  I try to sleep in on the weekends, but something always wakes me up (I am a really light sleeper).  Its getting to the point where I hit the snooze like 4 or 5 times in the morning and have to drag myself out of the bed.  It sucks.

Anwyays, I got some good work done on my motorcycle.  The new intake is pretty nice.  I ordered what should be the last parts for it Monday.  I also won an auction for a paint sprayer so I can paint my bike.  Im just having a hard time coming up with a good scheme.  I really want to put the burnt orange color on it, but I think it would be too plain all by itself.  As much as I would love flames, I dont think I could do a good job by myself with it.  Who knows, maybe Ill give it a try anways…lol.

Mandi’s grandpa passed away on Tuesday.  The wake is today and the funeral is tomorrow.  I am going to be a pallbearer.  I was a little surprised at first that the sons werent doing it, but I am very honored.

This weekend I am going to try and get my boat all set for the upcoming opener.  Only got 2 weeks.  The hardest part is I need to get the fiberglass done in the back under the gas tank so I can finally get the gas tank back in.  I may take her out Sunday for a quick drive to make sure its all setup right if I can get enough done.  That way I get to try out the new truck and make sure its up to par.

Speaking of new truck, what a pain.  I finally have the exhaust almost done.  I ended up having to buy a new crossover pipe for it because the old one was rusted away too much.  Then I tried to get the O2 sensor out of the old pipe.  As soon as I saw it I knew there was gonna be no way.  I had my 18″ breaker bar on it and it didnt move.  I even tried my high power impact wrench, nothing.  So I ended up having my sister go order me a new Denso one from Autozone.  You know how hard it is to find a not Bosch sensor?  My god.  They are the worst sensor out there and everyone carries them.  Denso is in my opinion one of the best brands.  So I got that in and installed.  Now I just need to put the new manifold to crossover bolts in on the drivers side and Im set for that.  While I was under the truck I noticed that the oil filter adapter was leaking (pretty common problem).  So I replaced that.  After I replace the spark plugs I should be all set on the truck for awhile.  My next project for it is to replace the rusted out rocker panels.  It will be my first time doing it, but Im pretty confident I can do it.

Well thats the end of this edition of “The chronicles of Charlie” or as Mandi would say, “Dear Diary”…ha!

Blades of sweetness!

Mandi, Malissa, James and I went to see Blades of Glory on Saturday.  It was pretty freakin Mind-bottling (see the movie, youll understand then…lol).  It is definately an instant classic.  Will Ferrell had an excellent performance and there were quite a few cameos in it.  Good stuff…cant wait to see it again.

Been busy catching up with my tv shows.  The Shield has started back up and in true Shield fashion, they have pulled out all the stops and are making for yet another thrilling season.  I swear FX is the best station on tv.  I have also been watching “The Riches” on FX.  Its about a gypsy con-family pretending to be “buffers.”  The main actor is amazing.  FX always finds these wonderful actors out of nowhere.  God I love my media center PC.  It takes a 1 hour tv show and you can skip the commercials so its only 40 minutes long.  Its hard to believe there are 20 minutes of commercials in every hour of tv.  What a waste of time (as if watching tv wasnt bad enough…lol).

More working on the motorcycle tonight.  I think I have a good idea of where I need to go now with the carb, just a matter of getting the parts. Im really itching to get riding again…stupid cold weather.

Can we say busy?

I know its been a couple weeks since I posted, so much has happened and I havent had time to even think really. I mostly got money for my birthday. That is awesome though. I plan on either buying saddlebags for my motorcycle with it, or putting it towards a new Clarke 130EN mig welder. Tough decisions. Mandi is getting me some floorboards for my motorcycle that I wanted. They should be pretty sweet. Mandi’s bday was yesterday. I got her the new Harry Potter book (well I pre-ordered it for her) and some monies. She didnt know what she wanted so I figured out as best I could. I think I did a pretty good job. We went to eat at Abuelos with Lisa then to the gritty. It was good times and its good to get out of the house. Too bad Middleton isnt smoke free also though.

Last week was a mess. First, our cat Alfred ended up at the emergency clinic on Sunday night. He was straining to pee and couldnt get anything out. He ended up there until Tuesday evening. They said he might strain for a few more days but it should clear up with the pills they sent home (let me tell you making a cat take pills is so much fun). Finally on Friday we took him back to our normal vet in CP (we definately couldnt afford another $1400 bill…stupid 24hour clinics…lol). They kept him for the day and gave him a ton of fluids. Then they sent him home with some more drugs. All in all I have to give him 3 pills, 3 times a day until tomorrow, then its 3 in the morning and 2 at night for a few weeks. He is finally doing better though now. We were pretty worried about our little guy though.

So on top of that, Monday Mandi’s Grandpa went into the hospital. He seemed to have had a stroke and wasnt doing so well. The decision was made to just make him comfortable and on Thursday they sent him back to the nursing home and had Hospice coming. Friday we got the call that he was awake and talking and eating. We went and saw him Friday night. It was so weird. They say that this may either be a last hurrah, or that he could have recovered from whatever happened. Only time will tell though.

So that has been my life in a nutshell. I havent gotten anything around the house accomplished. Today I finally got to work on my motorcycle a little bit. I took off the new intake manifold and ground all the welds down. Then I covered all the welds with jb-weld. This way it will both smooth out the welds to make it look nicer, and fill any pinholes that were left. That wont be cured until tomorrow though. I still have to figure out some way to coat the inside to protect it from rusting. I ordered the materials to make new throttle cables today. The ones I have will kind of work, just not well. The new cables I make will be a custom perfect fit.  Here is a pic of what it looks like so far:

Thursday Cory picked me up from work for lunch. He had to show off his new Malibu Maxx. It was a pretty nice car, not to mention it is fully loaded. Not my cup of tea personally, but still a really nice car. After we grabbed some Rocky’s pizza, we headed over to the Wingra damn to see the muskies. There were some monsters there. Here is a pic of one:

I may try and get out yet today and roll the lawn. Yesterday I picked up a large roller for the lawn. It rained this morning, but it seems to have dried a bit. May be a perfect time to do it. Busy busy ;)
