Welp, as I sit here typing this, we are getting more snow. This could put us over the record for the snowiest season in Madison. The old record was 76.x” and we were at 74.x”. Pretty crazy considering that there is two months of winter left. It didnt help that we got 13.3″ of snow Wednesday. I spent 5 hours total shoveling and snowblowing. That was crazy. Ive seen enough snow for one winter.
Not too much is going on here. Im working on the bar part of the remodel. Its slow going though because some of the steps are time limited. For example, I just finished patching the back wall where the seem of the floor meets the wall. I now have to wait three days for that concrete to dry before I can use the watertite sealant to completely seal the walls. I have to wait 3 or 4 days for that to dry before I can cover it up. Thats ok though, Im not in a huge rush to finish it. I did get a lot of the wiring done for it and I have part of the frame for the bar up.
Mandi and I have started making plans for our European vacation this summer. We should be booking our flight this weekend. We also have started to purchase stuff for the trip. Mandi got some sandals and some clothes. We also got our suitcase/backpacks. They are the only thing we will have, and they are carry on’s. We are getting a bunch of quick dry clothes so we can wash stuff in the sink and have it dry before the morning. That allows us to pack for like 3 or 4 days, saving a lot of room. Any souveniers will have to be shipped back.
For the trip, I pre-ordered the new Canon Rebel XSi. Its canon’s newest digital SLR. I have also acquired a few goodies to go along with it like a compact tripod (folded it is 12.4″ long and 1.6 lbs), and some filters. I plan on getting the 70-200mm zoom lens I want to go with it later this week since Canon has an instant rebate on them for another week or so. It is a pricey package (compared to a point and shoot camera), but well worth it. I want to take awesome pictures while I am there. This really is a trip of a lifetime, and I want to remember it in detail.
Tonight we are braving the snow and heading downtown for a birthday at the Great Dane. Its a fun group of peeps and it will be a good time. Nothing on tap for tomorrow except shoveling the snow away
Hope everyone has a good and safe weekend.
