My friend Carrie reminded me last week that taste of Madison was this past weekend. I had completely forgotten it was coming up. So I looked at the lineup and saw that Royal Bliss was playing on Sunday. I convinced Mandi to go with me (it wasnt all that hard). The food was good as always. It seems shrimp dishes are the new “in” thing. Everyone has some type of shrimp. My favorite though is still Abuelos bacon wrapped and grilled stuffed shrimp. They are stuffed with queso and jalepenos. Not really enough to hardly taste though (I think they could use more). Anyways, I love them and at the taste they are only $3 for 2 of them. If you go to the restaurant you have to get them with the steak for like $16 (its called the specialty of the house and its so delicious…one of my favorite restaurant meals). It was good times and a beautifull day. Not too hot or cold.
I dragged Mandi over to watch Royal Bliss after we were done sampling food. Ever since I started listening to them, I have known that they are going to blow up. They just have the sound that all kinds of people can enjoy. I saw that sentiment echo’ed at the show. There was old people, young people, people with kids, etc. They put on a great show for the 30 or 45 minutes they had and I would love to see them again someday. If you havent listened to them before, or even heard of them, I would recommend listening to a few samples from here: http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Bliss/e/B001LHXWU6/ref=ntt_mus_dp_pel
They have Save Me as being a single only, but its from the latest album (Life in Between). That song and Devils and Angels are probably my two favorites. We Did Nothing Wrong is great too though. Top three right there. They seemed like great guys and even signed autographs after the show. I wish I would have brought something to have them sign. There werent many people after the show and they were just standing there chatting. Pretty cool.
