Lots has happened in the past few weeks.  Ive been so busy and sick, that Im feeling constantly run down and have no energy.  Work has been extremely busy now that we are down 1 person and the new student is still new and doesnt know a ton.  I ended up at work all day last saturday because we installed a new UPS (battery backup system).  The electritions wired the phases the wrong direction so they had to fix that.  They also did some other stupid stuff they needed to fix.  Then after we came back up we had a virtual disk fail on our storage array.  After a call to Dell we finally got it fixed eventually.

A couple weeks ago now, Mandi and I went to Ruths Chris Steakhouse as a 4 year Anniversary dinner.  We had a lot of fun on our little date night.  We had a drink at the bar then were seated.  I had the lousianna gumbo, sweet potato casserole, and a New York Strip steak.  Mandi had a salad and Crab Cakes. Then for dessert we got a “free” Creme Brulee.  I say free in the fact that what we payed for the dinner more than covered the cost on that dessert.  Everything is a la carte, so when you order a steak, you only get a steak.  It was the most expensive steak I have ever ordered (like $37), and it is in my top 3 steaks.  Also in the top 3 is the steak from Lousiannes in Middleton (not quite as expensive, but still up there), and the strip steaks from Costco.  Yes Costco’s Strip Steaks are thats good.  About a week after Ruths I grilled one up to compare.  A bite from the center of each was almost the same.  Both were tender and juicy (they should be…I order it rare!).  The only difference was that the costco steak isnt trimmed quite as well.  It had a tendon running on the outside of it.  Not a big deal really, especially considering its only a bit over $6/lb.  What a deal.  Honestly, its probably the best cut of meat I have ever bought for the price.  I know I can get as good of a cut by going to a butcher, but it will be 2 or 3 times as much.

We have hit a few Badger games already this year.  And we are going to the Homecoming game against Iowa tomorrow.  My buddy Scott is out of town so was looking to get rid of his tickets.  I gladly took them off of his hands.  They will probably get creamed, but hopefully they put up a fight at least.

So whats up with the weather?  I was at the chiropractor last week and he said that a year ago it was in the 80’s this week.  CRAZY!  It sure made for a short summer.  I still have stuff to do outside around the house and need the warm weather back!  Just for a couple of days would be nice.  Maybe some 60’s.

Ive been planning my soon to be brother-in-laws bachelor party for this sunday and thought I had everything set.  A last minute call to the paintball field and I talked to a different person.  They gave me a MUCH different story than when I called the first time.  They have hardly anyone walking on right now.  So that cancelled our plans for that (which sucked because I stuck a bunch of money into fixed my marker to be ready for it…guess Ill just have to go around here soon).  I think we have it figured out what to do now, but its just annoying.

Been installing windows 7 on machines here at work for the past couple of weeks.  Its so much better than XP and vista its not even funny.  I cant wait till we get more people on it.  Hopefully it will simplify support calls.  There are a lot of features that will make things easier for everyone.  For example, if youve used a projector with your laptop, you know it can be frustrating sometimes to get it to work.  So windows built in a function to turn on support to the projector.  Instead of searching for the correct key sequence to use with the fn key on most laptops, you can now just hit the windows key and P.  It will bring up a box of what you want to do.  Awesome.
