Long forgotten update….
Been busy the past few weeks. We did 6 xmas’s, New Years in Milwaukee, and still managed to get a little done on the basement! Im pretty sure the entire xmas break was spent running to different parts of the state. I spent like $300 on gas just going to xmas’s this year. Crazy. They need to invent a teleport machine very soon, I dont like sitting in the car for that many hours.
New Years was fun. We went to Mandi’s friend Amanda’s in Milwaukee. Lots of fun talking to people and drinking, I even played a little bit of tippy cup. Why do I do those things? I ended up drinking an 11 pack. At least I wasnt all that hung over the next day, AND I didnt puke. Win win!
Basement is coming along! It wont be too much longer before we are open for business! Tiling is done (just need to seal the grout now). Cabinets are nearly done (just need to assemble and finish the shelves, cut all the wood for it last night). All thats left is the Mantle shelf above the fireplace, make “doors” for the ceiling access panels, plumb and setup the bar lines for both beer and the soda gun, carpet, and then remodel the bathroom downstairs (its only getting tiling, toilet, sink and new paint so it shouldnt take too long). I also need to figure out what to do with the siding now too. I put up pine planks for the walls, and after having the fireplace going a couple of days, it dried the place up enough to pull the boards apart in a few places. Some of the gaps are pretty serious. Really pisses me off, but not much I can do now except fix it.
For xmas, Mandi got me a popcorn popper for the bar, so we can make super delicious popcorn. Its one of the real popcorn machines that make popcorn like at sporting events. So yummy! Then on Sunday, I will be going to my cousins house to learn how to make my own beer. I need to learn so I can start making my own soon. I will have to get up early, but it will be worth it.
I also managed to get out fishing twice now. Did OK, but not great. Both times only caught about 8-10 bluegills, but both times managed to catch 6 nice sized ones for the freezer. Gotta stock up now for the rest of the year.
Saturday night we are finally seeing Avatar in 3d at the IMAX. We tried going last wednesday, but it was sold out by the time we got there. That was sucky, but we ended up going and playing indoor mini-golf, and the best part, drinking at the same time! Where else could you do that except WI!
